Spectacular MHYC Opening Day 2025-2026
Members and guests enjoyed a magnificent Opening Day for the 2025-2026 season on a beautiful warm and sunny spring day.
Following a welcome by Commodore Rob Aldis, Mike McEvoy was presented with Life Membership of the club in recognition of his tireless work as a volunteer, especially as a senior safety equipment auditor. This was followed by the naming cermony for the club's new start boat, Legacy. The boats in the Sail Past looked spectacular in the sunshine and soon after the Commodore's Front Up Cup got underway along with short course racing in the club's Melges 20s. Live music from Dallas O'Brien and The New Hip took a short pause for the prizegiving ceremony but continued to the end of the afternoon.
Altogether a great day enjoyed by all.
