new Friday Twilight Spinnaker Series: New for 2009/10 Spinnaker Twilight Racing. 5 races are scheduled on Friday evenings starting at 1800 hours (Warning Signal 1750). Race 1 commences on 30 October 2009 (no discards). Spinnakers are permitted. Each race is held in conjunction with the end of month entertainment, including Members Badge Draw.

Wednesday Series: The only race held 52 weeks in the year on Sydney Harbour. Be on deck at MHYC every Wednesday for a great afternoon of networking and racing on Sydney Harbour.

Offshore Racing:  The Gillawa Shield Series will commence on 25 July 2009, with the Audi Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race 2009. This is a long Ocean Series and is ideal for the yachtsperson after true ocean racing on the East Coast of Australia. Racing is held in conjunction with the CYCA Blue Water Pointscore Series, with PHS and IRC Results. The Series consists of 5 Races (1 discard) and application for Average Points for Annual Inshore Pointscores that are missed whilst competing.

new Ocean Pointscore Series: The Ocean Pointscore Series will commence on Saturday
12 September 2009. The series consists of 5 races (1 discard) including the SASC Lion Island race, a selection of races from the CYCA Ocean Pointscore Series and the MHYC annual Sydney Short Ocean Racing Championship. These events are YA Special Regulation Category 4 with PHS and IRC Results. This series is perfect for the yachtsperson who wants to experience ocean racing without the exertion of having to compete in the long ocean races of the Gillawa Shield Series.

Winter Saturday Inshore Series: Racing at MHYC continues throughout the winter months every Saturday. Multiple Divisions and an earlier start.

Cruising Division: Prefer Cruising? Our Cruising Divison actively encourages, promotes and engages in yacht cruising activities. Whilst formally organised, with a committee and regular meeting nights, we welcome any sailing member of the club to attend, as well as non-members who are keen on joining the club.

Junior Centreboard Sailing: A learn to sail program run on the club’s fleet of 20 poly Optimist Dinghy’s. The program caters for children aged 7 – 12. Run by certified Instructors using a four tiered YA approved curriculum. The kids will love it! MHYC also runs a Junior Racing Program in conjunction with the Middle Harbour 16' Sailing Skiff Club.
