Back to work for many of our members this week and busy at your club with our popular school holiday camps.

Cruising Division - Lord Howe Island Rendezvous - 5 to 19 January

Three yachts are cruising in company to the gorgeous Lord Howe Island this week - Evan Hodge and Kelly Nunn-Clark on Nashira, David Day on Arawai and Frank Taylor on Bundeena. We appreciate their regular updates and glad to hear they have all arrived safely and enjoying the hospitality of Lord Howe!

January Cup incorporating the Two Handed Race 

Saturday sailing returns this week with our feature race the January Cup incorporating the Two Handed Race.

This is a great way to get your crew out of their holiday stupor and back on the water!

Please enter online via the website and advise the sailing office if you are competing in Spinnaker / Non Spinnaker division or with a two person crew.

If you are interested in using one of the MHYC Melges 20s for this race please email sailing.development@mhyc.com.au directly.

Carl Crafoord aboard  - Grace O’Malley -  40th overall

               Andrew Pearson - 40 + year member -  Helmesman/Tactician  - Quest   2nd overall & 1st ORCI

Bob Cox's yacht Nine Dragons achieved 2nd position on Line Honours and 1st on IRC in Division 1 in the Pittwater - Paradise race.

Big congratulations to Lachie Brewer & Max Paul - winning the final race in Hong Kong to finish 2nd overall in the 29er Worlds! Well done too Archie Cropley & Simon Murnaghan 18th overall, John-Mark Paul & George Richardson 3rd in Silver Fleet and Max Giffney & Nathan Stanaway 18th in Silver.

Australia Day - Friday 26 January

With the above regatta and yacht challenge happening, the Club will be a very exciting place to be this morning - lots of Bacon & Egg Rolls cooked fresh on the BBQ, coffee and a complimentary champagne & orange juice for MHYC members between 8.00-10.00am!  Just show your card to the Cafe staff ...

Come and relax on the private beach at your club - this is a family fun day with the Inflatable Wipeout jumping castle located in the marina (in front of the beach) in the morning from 10.00am to 12 noon for member's children/grand-children to play on followed by some fun Aussie tunes with Sydney Groove Trio from 3pm to 6pm in the afternoon.  The Sandbar Cafe and Harbourview Bar & Bistro will be open for all your tasty food and cold drink favourites.

Youth Sailing Camps

Spaces still available on our remaining Holiday Camps during January 2018 - book online now so you don't miss out!  The camps run from Monday -Thursday until the end of January and are a great fun way for kids wanting to experience and learn the fun of sailing!

Farr 40s are back again

Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st January we will once again be hosting this one design Regatta who are regular visitors to MHYC - volunteers to assist our on-water Race Management team for this event would also be appreciated if any one has time.

Middle Harbour Yacht Club /  Gosford Sailing Club Challenge

Gosford Sailing Club in conjunction with Middle Harbour Yacht Club as Organising Authority invite entries from owners of suitable yachts to race from Sydney to Broken Bay and on the Brisbane Water.

The MHYC GSC Challenge Regatta will consist of 9 races over 3 days racing from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th January 2018.

Sailing instructions will be available on the GSC & MHYC websites no later than Wednesday 24th January 2018.

Adams 10 Australian Championship

being held here at MHYC on the Australia Day Weekend - starting on Friday 26th January and finishing on Sunday 28th January - we wish all the MHYC Adams 10 fleet lots of luck for this event. Anyone interested in offering their services as a volunteer to help our on-water Race Management teams, please contact David or Cathy in the Sailing office asap.  We really need your help!

2018 Barefoot Ball

Tickets are now on sale for our most popular event of the season. Get your party crew together, keep Saturday 17th February free and lock in your tickets!

Kayaks for MHYC members - A great way to get out on the water and stay fit over summer or spend some time with your kids now that school holidays are here. Midweek or weekend, these are available for $15/hour for a single - $20/hour for a double. Call the club to book in advance on 9969 1244. Rental fees apply. Form here.

Prime Example is competing in the Festival of Sails regatta  http://festivalofsails.com.au/ at Geelong Melbourne over the Australia day weekend and will then be offered for sale prior to competing in the Port Lincoln regatta www.lincolnweek.com.au in Adelaide. They are currently looking for crew for this regatta so please contact Leigh Dorrington on 0411733219.

Sandbar Cafe - Open 7 days a week

The Sandbar Cafe is open 7 days a week from 8am. Come down to the Club & enjoy our coffee and freshly made gourmet rolls, fresh muffins, slices or try one of Brett's homemade icecreams.  

Don't forget we have takeaway beverages for sale - cases of beer, bottles of wine, and bags of ice.
